Accessibility Assistant
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide scheduled support services in the classroom and multiple other settings to students with accommodations as assigned by the Manager or Coordinator at all campus locations.
- Help students utilize assistive technologies and adaptive equipment in a classroom, lab, or testing setting.
- Proctor, read, or scribe exams to individuals who have been approved for testing accommodations.
- Monitor student behavior to ensure safety and appropriate interactions.
- Report student progress to faculty and staff as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience
- Demonstrate familiarity and understanding of the ADA and Section 504.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills required.
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
- Experience working with adults and/or in Higher Education preferred.
- Proficiency in specific academic disciplines preferred (for example: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, etc.).
Working Conditions
- Work flexible shifts including weekends according to student needs.
Pay Grade
Hourly wage $18.00.
