Job summary

The College of DuPage is seeking an Accessibility Assistant to provide support services in various settings for students with disabilities. Job description

Accessibility Assistant
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide scheduled support services in the classroom and multiple other settings to students with accommodations as assigned by the Manager or Coordinator at all campus locations.
  • Help students utilize assistive technologies and adaptive equipment in a classroom, lab, or testing setting.
  • Proctor, read, or scribe exams to individuals who have been approved for testing accommodations.
  • Monitor student behavior to ensure safety and appropriate interactions.
  • Report student progress to faculty and staff as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience
    • Demonstrate familiarity and understanding of the ADA and Section 504.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills required.
    • Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
    • Experience working with adults and/or in Higher Education preferred.
    • Proficiency in specific academic disciplines preferred (for example: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, etc.).
Working Conditions
  • Work flexible shifts including weekends according to student needs.
Pay Grade

Hourly wage $18.00.
