Qualifications

• Master's degree in engineering with four years of post-baccalaureate experience.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering with six years of post-baccalaureate experience.
• Associate's degree in engineering or engineering technology with six years of experience at a level equivalent to Civil Engineer I, plus two more years as Engineering Technician.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates permit application review with multiple agencies and utilities to issue permits.
• Reviews and directs changes to complex consultant-designed projects for compliance with standards.
• Inspects and monitors projects and directs field changes to protect the traveling public.
• Supervises engineering staff in evaluation of plans, specifications and permits.
• Develops and defends department objectives related to the permit process.
• Performs research and maintains drainage inventory and MS4 compliance.
• Maintains records for permits, plans, deeds and easements across district highways.
• Follows risk management, safety and environmental standards and orders.
