Job summary

Summit Pointe seeks an Access Technician to provide screening and crisis stabilization services at the Summit Pointe Psychiatric Urgent Care facility in Battle Creek, MI. You will work with program staff to assess risk, refer to community services, and coordinate with law enforcement when needed.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a mental health field and experience in behavioral health settings. Training in trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices like Motivational Interviewing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or other Mental Health related field.
• One or more years of experience in behavioral health care setting or practicum in behavioral health.
• Knowledge of psychotherapy, counseling, research methods, and judicial systems preferred.
• Experience with Motivational Interviewing or SBIRT

Responsibilities

• Provide screening and assessment services including brief assessment, screening for risk, and referrals to community service programs.
• Respond in coordination with community programs such as assisting law enforcement and/or community members in crisis.
• Complete pre-screen assessments for inpatient placement and determine appropriate level of care support.
• Conduct psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, and facilitate group therapy for individuals diverted or discharged from psychiatric care.
• Support a trauma informed culture of safety to aid customers in recovery.
