Job summary

Summit Pointe is seeking an Access Technician to support behavioral healthcare access at the Summit Pointe Psychiatric Urgent Care. You will perform screening, risk assessment, and crisis coordination in partnership with center staff.

The role involves completing pre-screenings, facilitating appropriate placements, and delivering psychosocial assessments and treatment planning within a trauma-informed framework, ensuring safe, person-centered care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or other mental health field.
• 1+ year of experience in behavioral health care or structured practicum.
• Knowledge of psychotherapy, counseling, research methods, and judicial systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide screening and assessment services including brief assessments and risk screening.
• Coordinate with community programs and assist crisis or behavioral health access.
• Complete pre-screen assessments for inpatient placement and eligibility for level of care.

Job Summary/Objective:The Access Technician will work in conjunction with other access center program staff to provide both routine screening and crisis stabilization services for customers seeking access to behavioral healthcare services at the Summit Pointe Psychiatric Urgent Care facility.Essential Duties and Functions:Provide screening and assessment services including brief assessment, screening for risk, and referrals to community service programs.Respond in coordination with community programs such as assisting law enforcement and/or community members experiencing a mental health crisis or seeking access to behavioral health services.Complete pre-screen assessments for individuals presenting for inpatient placement; establishes placement for individuals requiring hospitalization and completes eligibility screens for determination of appropriate level of care support services.Complete alternative orders, conducts psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, and the facilitation of group therapy for individuals recently diverted or discharged out of psychiatric placement or as part of customer diversion programming.Support a trauma informed culture of safety to aid customers in their recovery process.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or other Mental Health related field.One or more years of experience in behavioral health care setting or one or more semesters within a structured practicum in the field of behavioral health.Knowledge of psychotherapy, counseling, research methods, and judicial systems preferred.Experience with or knowledge of Evidence Based Practice such as Motivational Interviewing or SBIRTBenefits:Premium health and vision within 30 days of hireCompany sponsored Health Reimbursement AccountCompany paid short and long-term disabilityEmployee assistance program401(K) match up to 5% after one year of serviceSocial security alternative contributionsFree YMCA membershipGenerous paid time off14 paid holidaysContinuing education reimbursementLicensure study materials and exam reimbursementTrauma Informed System of Care:A trauma-informed approach to service delivery emphasizes physical and emotional safety, choice, empowerment, and trustworthiness for customers.
