Job Summary

The Patient Access Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for patients and their families, ensuring a seamless and efficient scheduling experience. This role focuses on delivering the standard of “one call does it all,” supporting all aspects of patient access including scheduling, communication, and records coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the single point of contact for patients and families
  • Handle inbound phone calls and in-person scheduling requests
  • Monitor and process online patient/family requests
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate second opinions
  • Track and manage internal and external referral sources
  • Coordinate complex scheduling with multiple providers across the Philadelphia campus and Specialty Care locations
  • Assist patients/families in obtaining clinical information and records for initial visits
  • Ensure all pre-visit diagnostic work-up requirements are completed
  • Enter accurate patient demographics in EPIC system
  • Verify insurance coverage details
  • Provide cross-coverage support to other access coordinators as needed

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proficiency in EPIC and scheduling systems
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
