Job summary

KCI Telecommunications is seeking Access Control / Security Systems Technicians to support ongoing projects throughout the Charleston, SC market. The role focuses on installing access control, security cameras, and low-voltage cabling, with varying experience levels from developing technicians to experienced specialists.

Candidates should be able to travel to project sites, work first shift, wear PPE, and follow drawings.

Qualifications

• Approximately 1–2 years of low-voltage, access control, security, or structured cabling experience.
• Experience with security camera and/or door access installation strongly preferred.
• Structured cabling experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install and mount security cameras and associated equipment.
• Install door access and access control systems.
• Perform low-voltage and structured cabling installation as required.
• Pull, route, dress, and terminate cabling.
• Support inside plant (ISP) and outside plant (OSP) installations.
• Assist with physical security and perimeter security system installations.
• Perform camera aiming and adjustments as required.
• Read and follow project drawings, installation plans, and site requirements.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Work alongside Foremen, Leads, and other technicians to complete installations on schedule.

Job Overview

KCI Telecommunications is seeking Access Control / Security Systems Technicians to support ongoing projects throughout the Charleston, SC market.

We are looking for technicians with experience installing access control, security cameras, and low-voltage cabling systems. Multiple experience levels are being considered, from developing technicians with approximately 1 2 years of field experience to experienced security and access control technicians.

Responsibilities

• Install and mount security cameras and associated equipment
• Install door access and access control systems
• Perform low-voltage and structured cabling installation as required
• Pull, route, dress, and terminate cabling
• Support inside plant (ISP) and outside plant (OSP) installations
• Assist with physical security and perimeter security system installations
• Perform camera aiming and adjustments as required
• Read and follow project drawings, installation plans, and site requirements
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Work alongside Foremen, Leads, and other technicians to complete installations on schedule

Experience programming or configuring security systems is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Approximately 1 2+ years of relevant low-voltage, access control, security, or structured cabling experience preferred
• Experience with security camera and/or door access installation strongly preferred
• Structured cabling experience is a plus
• Ability to use standard hand and power tools associated with low-voltage installation
• Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments
• Ability to travel to project sites throughout the Charleston region
• Reliable transportation required
• Ability to work primarily first shift with flexibility when project schedules require it

Tools & PPE

Technicians should have their own basic low-voltage hand tools/tool bag. Larger equipment and specialty tools will be available on-site as required.

Required PPE

• Steel-toe work boots
• Safety glasses
• Work gloves

Additional Site-specific PPE Will Be Provided As Required.

Screening Requirements

• Must be able to successfully complete a 10-year background check
• Must be able to successfully complete a 10-panel drug screening

Travel

Most project work will be located within approximately 1 1.5 hours of the Charleston market. Mileage reimbursement may be available for qualifying project travel exceeding approximately 60 miles or one hour each way.
