Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an Access Control Technician for the Charleston market. Based in North Charleston, you will support commercial security installations, wiring, testing, and commissioning of access control devices, readers, door hardware, and related low-voltage systems.

You will read drawings, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with project teams while maintaining professionalism on customer sites. This contract-to-hire role offers growth in a growing security installation business.

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
• Ability to travel throughout the Convergint service territory.
• Basic understanding of circuits, wiring and electrical concepts.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Desire to build a long-term career in security.

Responsibilities

• Install access control devices such as card readers and door hardware.
• Assist with installation and integration of commercial security systems.
• Pull, terminate, label, and test low voltage cabling.
• Read and interpret drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Support system testing, troubleshooting, startup and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot wiring issues and device failures.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and senior technicians.
• Maintain professional presence in customer facilities.
• Learn multiple access control platforms used by customers.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate project status.
