Job summary

Pref-Tech in Houston, TX is seeking a Service Technician to service and troubleshoot access control, IP video, and related systems. You will install hardware, diagnose faults, and interface with customers to deliver reliable security solutions.

The role requires 5+ years in access control installation and a TX driver’s license; you’ll work on-site, sometimes on-call, with opportunities for growth and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Must be 18+ with valid TX Driver’s License.
• 5+ years in access control installation, service and configuration.
• Experience with HID, Mercury, CCTV.
• Ability to work independently and handle on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Install cabling, mount equipment, install card readers and mag locks.
• Troubleshoot cabling, readers, cameras, and integrated systems.
• Understand low voltage systems and network topology; test with multimeter.
• Document and update work orders and customer communications.
