Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Full Time Access Desk in New York, NY to monitor entry points, verify credentials, and safeguard staff and visitors. The role emphasizes professional communication, incident response, and adherence to site policies on a busy utility location.

You will work a daytime schedule, earn $18.30–$19.30 per hour, and join a team focused on safety and service. Prior security experience and a high school diploma are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Comfort using computer or tablet preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Licensing requirements may apply.
• Driver's license required for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and utility personnel while following site policies and emergency procedures.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for personnel, visitors, deliveries, and vehicles.
• Issue and maintain records for visitor credentials, access cards, keys, and other controlled items.
• Respond to access control alarms and incidents in a calm, proactive manner and report concerns through proper channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, buildings, and perimeters to deter unauthorized activity.
