Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Residential Community Control Access, NY to safeguard shelter residents, visitors, and staff. You will manage entry, verify credentials, patrol interior and exterior areas, and respond to incidents with a people‑first approach.

This full‑time role offers a pay rate of $17.00 per hour and day/evening shifts. Ideal candidates have customer service experience and a valid security license where required; a high school diploma or equivalent is needed,

Qualifications

Customer service experience is preferred.
A state, county, or city‑issued security license is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Background checks per federal, state, and local laws.
Drug screen required where permitted by law.
Licensing requirements vary by state/locality.
Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers at a shelter location by following security procedures and site policies.
Monitor and control access by verifying credentials and logging entries.
Respond to incidents and concerns in a calm, solution‑oriented manner and contact emergency services when needed.
Conduct regular patrols of interior and exterior areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
Document incidents and communicate information to site management.
