Job summary

Milwaukee Area Technical College is seeking a full-time Specialist, Lock and Key in the Public Safety division in Wisconsin. You will administer key services, manage lock work orders, and maintain the campus master key system.

This role collaborates with Facilities and IT, conducts inspections of locking systems, and ensures security compliance. A high school diploma and two years’ experience are required; an associate degree and OSHA 10 are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED with coursework in locksmithing or related trades.
  • Two years of work experience in building construction trades.
  • OSHA 10 certification and locksmith or carpentry license preferred.
  • Associate’s degree and three years in related trades preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage district key/access card requests and lock work orders.
  • Maintain and design lock schedules and the master key system.
  • Train staff of lock service technicians in related systems.
  • Inventory and procure locks, hardware, and parts.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, security regulations.
  • Coordinate with Public Safety, Facilities, and IT.
