Job description

About us:

Latch was founded in NYC a decade ago with a vision to create an unparalleled experience for residents through hardware and software. Now, after 100+ million locks, we're continuing that vision to transform how people interact with spaces everywhere. With our newly established headquarters in St Louis, we are unifying access to spaces, services, and experiences that redefine the way we live, work, and connect.

Latch is part of DOOR, with the mission to enhance the residential living experience through its DOOR app, which integrates products, services, technology, and community to reduce costs for building owners and meet residents' expectations. The DOOR app, built on Latch's foundation of access control and entry systems, features the Doorman, an AI assistant that provides building-specific data to residents and property managers, supporting needs from access control to monitoring amenities and service providers.

About the role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Access Control Electronics Technician to join our Operations team. Under the guidance of our Senior Solutions Engineer, you will ensure the smooth operation of devices, contributing to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Device Activation and Preparation for Deployment:
    • Activate and test new devices for full functionality.
    • Update firmware and provision devices to correct properties and access points.
    • Configure properties and devices in our system accurately.
    • Label devices and boxes with precise location information for installation efficiency.
    • Collaborate with the Senior Solutions Engineer to support field installers.
  • Device Returns and Refurbishment (RMA):
    • Inspect returned devices for faults or damages.
    • Assess and refurbish devices or dismantle for spare parts.
    • Perform repairs and testing to ready refurbished devices for redeployment.
    • Maintain records of RMA activities and device statuses.
What We’re Looking For:

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of electronics, troubleshooting, and basic repair techniques.
  • Familiarity with firmware updates, device provisioning, and configurations is a plus.
  • Proficiency with labeling and inventory management systems.

Attention to Detail:

  • Meticulous in following processes and documentation.
  • Accurate in device configuration and labeling.

Team-Oriented:

  • Strong communication skills and collaboration ability.
  • Supportive of delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree or certification in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field from a vocational or technical school.
  • Experience in electronics testing, repairs, or technical support roles.
Joining us means:
  • Working with teammates across the US, Argentina, Spain, and Romania.
  • Engaging in a fast-paced environment that fosters learning and career growth.
  • Encouragement to invent, innovate, and think outside the box within a supportive company culture.

We embrace diversity and strive to create an inclusive environment for all.
