Job summary

Next Level Technician in Houston, TX is seeking an Access Control and CCTV Technician to install, troubleshoot, and service commercial security systems. You will work on access control readers, door hardware, cabling, panels, and related equipment, with travel across the Houston area.

The role requires 2+ years in access control or low-voltage, reading blueprints, and familiarity with Brivo, LenelS2, Genetec, Avigilon, Verkada, or similar platforms.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of commercial access control or low-voltage experience.
• Hands-on experience installing and troubleshooting access control systems preferred.
• Knowledge of maglocks, electric strikes, card readers, door contacts, REX devices, relays, and access control panels.
• Basic understanding of networking, IP addressing, and TCP/IP is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with Brivo, LenelS2, Genetec, Avigilon, Verkada, or similar platforms is a plus.
• Texas Security License, BICSI, Lift, OSHA-10/30, and manufacturer certifications are a plus.
• Must possess basic hand tools and required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hi-vis vest, steel-toe boots).
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to travel to job sites throughout the Houston area as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test, troubleshoot, and service commercial access control systems.
• Install and configure card readers, keypads, door contacts, request-to-exit devices, maglocks, electric strikes, and other door hardware.
• Pull, route, terminate, dress, label, and test low-voltage cabling for access control systems.
• Install and wire access control panels, power supplies, relays, and associated equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and access control system layouts.
• Troubleshoot wiring, power, relays, communication issues, and access control hardware.
• Assist with programming, configuration, and commissioning of access control systems.
• Work with platforms such as Brivo, LenelS2, Genetec, Avigilon, Verkada, Honeywell, or similar systems is a plus.
• Perform system testing to ensure doors, readers, locks, REX devices, and alarms are functioning properly.
• Coordinate with project managers, customers, general contractors, and other trades as needed.
• Document completed work, testing results, and system issues.
