Lead Access Control & CCTV Technician – Access Control, CCTV & Intrusion | Houston, TX

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct onsite teams of 2–5 security and low voltage technicians, ensuring high-quality workmanship and safety standards
• Manage daily project tasks, assignments, and installations to meet deadlines and project requirements
• Install, terminate, test, troubleshoot, and service commercial security systems
• Install and troubleshoot access control systems, including card readers, maglocks, electric strikes, door contacts, REX devices, request-to-exit devices, and control panels
• Install and troubleshoot CCTV/surveillance systems, including cameras, NVRs, DVRs, and related equipment
• Install and service intrusion detection systems, alarms, sensors, and security devices
• Pull, route, terminate, dress, label, and test Cat5e/Cat6 and other low‑voltage cabling
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and security system layouts
• Troubleshoot issues involving low‑voltage wiring, networking, power, relays, and security equipment
• Configure and program security systems as needed and assist with system commissioning
• Communicate with project managers, customers, general contractors, and other trades to keep projects on schedule
• Train and mentor junior technicians while maintaining company and customer quality standards
• Safely operate ladders and lifts and work at heights as required
• Travel to commercial and industrial job sites throughout the Houston area as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years of hands‑on commercial security/low voltage experience
• Proven experience leading crews or supervising security installation teams
• Strong experience with access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems
• Working knowledge of low‑voltage wiring, electrical components, and computer networking
• Ability to troubleshoot security systems and identify technical issues in the field
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Experience with platforms such as Brivo, LenelS2, Genetec, Avigilon, Verkada, Bosch, Honeywell, or similar systems is a plus
• Texas Security License, BICSI, Lift, OSHA-10/30, and manufacturer certifications are a plus
• Must possess basic hand tools and required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hi-vis vest, steel-toe boots)
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Willingness to travel to job sites throughout the Houston area as needed
