Job summary

Next Level Technician in Houston, TX is seeking a Lead Access Control & CCTV Technician to oversee security installations on commercial sites. You will guide 2–5 technicians, install and program access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems, and ensure safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates bring 3–5 years of field experience, strong wiring and network skills, and a valid Texas Security License or related certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on commercial security/low voltage experience.
• Experience leading crews or supervising installation teams.
• Strong knowledge of access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Willingness to travel across the Houston area.

Lead Access Control & CCTV Technician – Access Control, CCTV & Intrusion | Houston, TX Join Next Level Technician as a Lead Security Technician in Houston, TX! Earn $25–$35/hr, enjoy weekly pay, benefits, and steady work with a national leader in low voltage staffing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct onsite teams of 2–5 security and low voltage technicians, ensuring high-quality workmanship and safety standards
• Manage daily project tasks, assignments, and installations to meet deadlines and project requirements
• Install, terminate, test, troubleshoot, and service commercial security systems
• Install and troubleshoot access control systems, including card readers, maglocks, electric strikes, door contacts, REX devices, request-to-exit devices, and control panels
• Install and troubleshoot CCTV/surveillance systems, including cameras, NVRs, DVRs, and related equipment
• Install and service intrusion detection systems, alarms, sensors, and security devices
• Pull, route, terminate, dress, label, and test Cat5e/Cat6 and other low-voltage cabling
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and security system layouts
• Troubleshoot issues involving low-voltage wiring, networking, power, relays, and security equipment
• Configure and program security systems as needed and assist with system commissioning
• Communicate with project managers, customers, general contractors, and other trades to keep projects on schedule
• Train and mentor junior technicians while maintaining company and customer quality standards
• Safely operate ladders and lifts and work at heights as required
• Travel to commercial and industrial job sites throughout the Houston area as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on commercial security/low voltage experience
• Proven experience leading crews or supervising security installation teams
• Strong experience with access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems
• Working knowledge of low-voltage wiring, electrical components, and computer networking
• Ability to troubleshoot security systems and identify technical issues in the field
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Experience with platforms such as Brivo, LenelS2, Genetec, Avigilon, Verkada, Bosch, Honeywell, or similar systems is a plus
• Texas Security License, BICSI, Lift, OSHA-10/30, and manufacturer certifications are a plus
• Must possess basic hand tools and required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hi-vis vest, steel-toe boots)
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Willingness to travel to job sites throughout the Houston area as needed
