Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina seeks an academically oriented transfusion medicine physician-scientist with ABP certification in Anatomic, Clinical, and Transfusion Medicine. Strong post-fellowship experience and SC licensure eligibility are required.

Candidates should demonstrate excellence in teaching, research participation, and collaboration with clinicians and technologists; active participation in the department's mission is expected.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree with pathology specialty training and ABP certification in Anatomic, Clinical, and Transfusion Medicine.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in South Carolina.
• Post-fellowship transfusion medicine experience with cell therapy processing is preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration with clinicians and researchers.

Responsibilities

• Interpret results for transfusion service workups and complications.
• Develop and validate tests; maintain quality control procedures.
• Support accreditation activities and test development initiatives.
• Collaborate with clinicians and researchers; mentor technologists.
• Participate in teaching medical students and pathology residents.
