Job summary

Talladega College, located in Talladega, Alabama, seeks an Academic Champion to deliver holistic advising for Freshman and Sophomore Band students and to oversee the N.A.D.O. program, supporting academic recovery and progress toward degree milestones.

The role partners with the Band Director and Student Affairs to ensure compliance with FERPA and to promote retention, academic success, and timely degree completion among at-risk students.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree required.
• 2+ years of experience in academic advising or higher education administration.
• Commitment to working with at-risk populations and diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent communication with students, faculty, and Band leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted academic advising for Freshman and Sophomore Band students.
• Manage N.A.D.O. program casework and progress.
• Assist with degree progression, SAP awareness, and registration guidance.
• Instruct Student Success courses as needed.
• Coordinate with Band Director to align academics with performance schedules.
• Maintain FERPA-compliant records and monitor early warning reports.
