Job summary

Southern Methodist University (SMU) is seeking a Registrar on-campus staff member to support student athletes’ academic certification and degree progress. The role operates within the Division of Enrollment Services, collaborating with schools to ensure eligibility and accuracy in my.SMU and NCAA systems.

The position emphasizes interpreting NCAA/ACC rules, maintaining program documentation, and providing training and support for Academic Advisement and Degree Planner modules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of three years of computer-related work experience.
• Experience with higher education, PeopleSoft Student Administrative System and student athlete certification preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to learn new software including Query Tools.

Responsibilities

• Interpret NCAA and ACC academic eligibility rules for student athletes.
• Serve as Registrar's liaison to track progress toward degree.
• Monitor academic eligibility for first-year, continuing, and transfer athletes.
• Manage documentation for Athletic Certification and develop/update related policies.
• Create data queries to support Athletic Certification processes and NCAA reporting.
