Job summary

Southern Methodist University in Dallas seeks a Business System Specialist to join the Registrar’s Office on campus. You will support student athletes’ academic certification, degree program module setup, and ad hoc data queries within my.SMU, contributing to the SMU Quality Enhancement Plan.

You will interpret NCAA and FERPA requirements, maintain academic advisement and degree planning modules, and provide training to RO staff while handling releases of education records and related reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of three years of computer-related work experience.
• Experience with PeopleSoft Student Administrative System and student athlete certification preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of FERPA and NCAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Support student athletes’ academic certification processes in my.SMU.
• Manage Degree Program Module setup and maintenance for advisement.
• Create and run ad hoc data queries to support reporting.
• Provide system support for Release of Education Records (FERPA).
• Assist Registrar staff and participate in training.
