POSITION SPECIFICS
The Department of Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) in the College of Health and Human Development is seeking an
Academic Program Coordinator. The successful candidate for this position will be part of a collaborative staff working to support the department's academic programs, including:
- HDFS undergraduate programming (BS)
- HDFS graduate programming (integrated MS/PhD) -and-
- our online Master's of Social Work (MSW) program
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Academic Advising on student and program support processes (e.g., add/drop registration, course substitutions, admin course cancellations, senior/student feedback surveys, advisor scheduling, scholarship/awarding)
- Collaborate with departmental and program leaders relative to communications - including, but not limited to, managing departmental listservs and using appropriate channels to communicate and promote program- or audience- specific opportunities and information.
- Collaborate with faculty on processes that support course and program offerings (e.g., order textbooks, collect syllabi, assign SEEQ's and MSEEQ's, submit final exam requests)
- Collaborate to plan and execute departmental recruitment events (e.g., summer days, prospective student visits, open houses), co-curricular events (e.g., resource/info fairs, career development functions) and celebratory events (e.g., graduation and/or award receptions); includes arranging volunteer schedules for events.
- Collaborate with Graduate Program Faculty and Students to provide support and coordination for graduate admissions - including coordinating recruitment communications, management of applications, application review meetings, and the planning of prospective students visits and new student orientation.
- Manage academic data (e.g. enrollment, progress, graduation data) and prepare reports for department leadership - including compiling metrics/data in support on ongoing program assessment and accreditation.
- Manage day-to-day departmental infrastructure (including, but not limited to, serving as primary point of contact/reception for department, managing ingoing and outgoing mail flow, managing supply inventory, coordinating service requests, coordinate lost/found for HHD Building, coordinating space use and room reservations)
- Provide back-up support to the Administrative Office Manager
The ideal candidate will work effectively and independently on complex projects but also be a strong collaborator. The ideal candidate should have strong communication and interpersonal skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines. Proficiency with Excel, Word and Outlook is required. Experience with student information, survey, scheduling, and learning management systems—such as LionPATH, Starfish, Qualtrics, CollegeNET, and Canvas—is preferred. However, training opportunities are available for those willing to learn.
This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.
Minimum Education, Work Experience & Required Certifications
General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS) 2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

Salary & Benefits
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $38,300.00 - $55,500.00.
