University of California, Davis is seeking a Staff: Career level Student Services Advisor 2 SV to provide comprehensive academic advising for the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The role collaborates with program coordinators and faculty advisors to support undergraduate and graduate programs, ABET compliance, and curriculum planning.
The position reports to the CEE Student Services Manager and participates in professional development and outreach initiatives within COE
Provides comprehensive, advanced academic advising to undergraduate and graduate students for the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. In collaboration with the two principal program coordinators (undergraduate and graduate) and respective faculty advisors, administers varied, complex programmatic activities in the undergraduate and graduate programs. Act as an integral member of the CEE advising team and works collaboratively with the COE Undergraduate Office (EUO) and Graduate Studies. Responsible for the complexities of administering the CEE academic programs, including but not limited to relevant department and university policies, procedures & resources, undergraduate course articulations with other colleges/universities, ABET requirements and COE requirements. Primary responsibilities in providing expert advising and counseling, academic program management and curriculum support, admissions and academic services, and student outreach, recruitment and engagement.
Reports directly to the CEE Student Services Manager and indirectly reports to the Director for Undergraduate Programs and Advising, COE Undergraduate Office, in the areas of professional development, advising resources, college-wide outreach, recruitment and retention programs, and best practices.

The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering (CEE) is a large and diverse academic department in the college with approximately 800 undergraduates in the undergraduate majors and approximately 150 graduate students enrolled in Master's or Ph.D. degree programs. We offer two BS majors in Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering, with 5 areas of specialization: Water Resources, Environmental, Geotechnical, Transportation and Structural Engineering. Two minors are offered: Construction Engineering and Management, and Sustainability in the Built Environment. The department has 39 faculty 3 adjunct professors, 4 professional research engineers, 25 Professional Scientists and Technical staff, and 11 administrative staff.
