Job summary

University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) seeks an Academic Human Resources Analyst CX to manage payroll and academic personnel matters for the EEB, CaSB, and Stunt Ranch units. Responsibilities include creating new positions, recruitment, hiring, and dossier preparation.

The role supports compliance, data analysis, and policy interpretation, serving as a liaison to key university admin units. Prior experience with UCPath and related systems is preferred.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of UCLA academic personnel and payroll policies, procedures, and processes.
• Analytical ability in interpreting policies and procedures and the ability to accurately convey information verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrated skill in setting priorities and handling competing deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal and writing skills for memos and correspondence.
• Experience with office software (Word, Excel, Outlook) and payroll data analysis.
• Familiarity with UCPath and related UCLA systems for payroll transactions.
• Ability to review dossiers and catch discrepancies in payroll data.

Responsibilities

• Manage academic personnel matters for ladder faculty and academic appointees across multiple units.
• Prepare employment contracts and compile dossiers for academic staff.
• Support recruitment, hiring, payroll processing, and labor relations activities.
• Generate reports and provide data to departmental initiatives and committees.
• Coordinate with Department Chair and administrators across units.
