Job summary

American University in Washington, DC is seeking an AMS Student Video Technician to record, edit, and process video for classes, university events, and the SimpleStudio. Job Description:
Summary:

The AMS ( Academic Multimedia Services ) Student Video Technician is responsible for recording, editing, and processing video.Student Video Technicians work as a group to share and carry out responsibilities on a scheduled basis. Student Video Technicians also help maintain staff presence in the AMS office and SimpleStudio within the University Library, coordinating with clients to meet their needs.

Essential Functions:
  • Recording, editing, and processing video from classes,university events, and Simple Studio.
  • Assisting other AMS and AV members with classroom and event production.
  • Organizing and maintaining footage on storage devices.
  • Organizing and maintaining AMS equipment and the SimpleStudio.
  • Maintaining staff presence in the AMS office and SimpleStudio.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
  • Part-time.
  • 15 hours per week.
Salary Range:
  • $18.40 per hour.
Required Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or its equivalent .
  • Excellent customer service, organization, communication, andproblem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations to maintain quality control.
  • Eager to learn new video production skills.
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud products.
  • Experience with professional HD camcorders and other video/audio equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of video recording/editing techniques.
