Job summary

The YMCA of Greater San Francisco is hiring an Academic Liaison to align the After School Program with the school day, using student data to inform planning and support both behavior and culture initiatives.

This role fosters collaboration between the ASP Site Coordinator and school leadership, coordinates tutoring and interventions, and leads professional development for ASP staff while maintaining strong ties with the community. Work takes place primarily in school settings.

Responsibilities

• Align ASP academic goals with school-day objectives, implementing ExCEL's Theory of Action to support students' academic success and socio-emotional growth.
• Collaborate with the ASP Site Coordinator and school leadership to develop and monitor the ASP Quality Action Plan and cohesive operations.
• Use student data to plan and implement ASP academic components, including individual or small group interventions, differentiated homework support, and tutoring programs.
• Provide professional development and coaching for ASP staff, including training sessions, specialized development, and leading Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).
• Support planning and execution of professional development days on non-school days.
• Act as a communication bridge between school-day and ASP staff to promote shared goals and best practices.
• Provide direct tutoring sessions in individual or group formats to students based on site needs.
• Attend mandatory staff meetings, training sessions, and ExCEL meetings.
