Job summary

Albany Medical College's Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine seeks an Interventional Pulmonologist to join its growing faculty. The role includes outpatient care, inpatient consults, and a closed Medical Intensive Care Unit, with a fellowship program and expertise in ultrasound, EBUS, navigational and robotic bronchoscopy.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Interventional Pulmonary Fellowship trained and AABIP board certified or eligible.
• Experience with EBUS, navigational bronchoscopy, rigid bronchoscopy, airway stenting, and complex airway management.
• Interest in an academic medical center environment including education, research, and quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive clinical care to patients with complex pulmonary and airway disorders.
• Perform advanced bronchoscopy procedures including EBUS, navigational bronchoscopy, robotic bronchoscopy, rigid bronchoscopy, airway stenting, tumor debulking and ablation, and management of central airway obstruction.
• Evaluate and manage pleural disease and perform pleural procedures (thoracentesis, chest tube placement, indwelling pleural catheter, medical thoracoscopy).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across pulmonology, thoracic surgery, oncology, radiology, pathology.
• Educate and mentor residents, fellows, medical students, and advanced practice providers.
