Job summary

Chesterfield County Public Schools is seeking tutors to provide intervention services designed to support instruction for students. This is a non-degreed position where you will work with lead-teachers to align support with Virginia standards and help students improve academic performance.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to tutor and supervise students.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, teachers, parents and staff.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Align direct support with the Virginia Standards of Learning.
• Collaborate with lead-teacher to develop support model.
• Review curriculum topics and assignments.
• Support differentiation strategies (station activities/ small groups).
• Provide feedback on student progress to lead-teacher.
• Teach skills to improve academic performance (study strategies/note-taking).
• Identify areas of improvement and help set mastery goals.
• Provide students positive and constructive feedback.
• Regularly seek guidance and feedback from lead-teacher.
