Job summary

Seattle Public Schools is seeking a dedicated educator to plan and provide learning experiences for students in designated subject areas, such as math and reading. The role involves creating an environment conducive to intellectual, physical, social and emotional development to ensure success for every student.

Under the principal's direction, you will monitor student outcomes, maintain records and coordinate intervention strategies while liaising with teachers and instructional coaches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field; academic preparation for teaching a diverse student population in urban schools.
• Excellent oral and written communication; strong human relations skills.
• Knowledge of district policies and SPS curriculum; ability to work with bilingual students and diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Plans a program of study that meets the needs, interests and abilities of individual students to ensure success for every student.
• Establishes learning objectives aligned with SPS curriculum and student development.
• Diagnoses learning disabilities with input for IEPs as needed.
• Maintains accurate records as required by law and SPS policies.
• Coordinates intervention strategies targeted at student needs.
• Acts as liaison between teachers and instructional coaches.
• Performs related duties within scope of position.
