Ascension Health in Evansville, IN is seeking an academic physician to support an expanding Internal Medicine Residency Program at Ascension St. Vincent Evansville Internal Medicine Residency Clinic. This outpatient/academic role emphasizes teaching and mentorship within a growing, ACGME-accredited program.

The ideal candidate is Board Certified/Eligible in Internal Medicine, with a passion for teaching, geriatric care, and collaboration within a large Catholic health system.

• Academic Leadership & Mentorship: Drive clinical excellence by teaching and mentoring within a premier, ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program at a pivotal expansion phaseâgrowing from 19 to 39 residents by 2027.
• Team Structure: Join a dedicated team of 7 Core Faculty Physicians within a robust clinical campus serving two medical schools.
• Clinical Excellence: Optimize patient outcomes through high-complexity perioperative care and geriatric consults within a specialized Resident-Faculty Practice (RFP).
• Integrated Care Delivery: Enhance patient access through a large, multi-specialty medical group supported by the national resources of the largest U.S. Catholic health system.
• Practice Setting: Outpatient / Academic
• Compliance & Professionalism: Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine and eligible for Indiana state medical licensure (practicing in a recognized tort-reform state).

Minimum Qualifications

• Degree: MD or DO from an accredited program.
• Licensure: Ability to obtain or currently hold an unrestricted Indiana medical license.
• Board Status: Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Internal Medicine.

What additional preferences we’re seeking

• Academic Passion: A primary interest in teaching is required, as this role is dedicated to resident education.
• Geriatric Expertise: Candidates with Family Medicine training will only be considered if they possess a geriatric specialty, certification, or extensive experience.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
