Job summary

The University of New Mexico Center for High Tech Materials (CHTM) in Albuquerque is seeking an Academic Intern (UNMTemps). The role supports non-hazardous cleanroom inventory duties, including restocking and ordering supplies for researchers.

You will help maintain the cleanroom store and dispense cleanroom supplies to Nanofab and CHTM researchers, under supervision, gaining hands-on experience in a university research setting.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in high school or recently graduated within 24 months.
• Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Familiarity with defined area of operational/administrative/technical specialty.
• Ability to interact with faculty and staff in a team environment.

Position Summary

The academic intern with CHTM will assist Maya with some non-hazardous cleanroom inventory duties, such as cleanroom inventory, restocking and ordering supplies, maintaining the cleanroom store and selling/dispensing cleanroom supplies to Nanofab and CHTM researchers.

Conditions of Employment

• Must be age 16 or older at date of hire; must be in the care of a parent or guardian if under the age of 18.
• Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University of New Mexico's influenza vaccination requirement.

Minimum Qualifications

Currently enrolled in high school or must have obtained high school diploma no greater than 24 months prior to hire date.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of or familiarity with defined area of operational/administrative/technical specialty.
• Ability to successfully interact with faculty and/or staff in a team environment.
