Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates the San Diego Job Corps Center in Imperial Beach, CA. The role involves providing academic instruction per approved curricula and guiding students to reach their goals.

The position is scheduled as needed, Monday through Friday, and pays $30.06 per hour. Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree with substitute teaching certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days), and have one year of instructional experience.

• Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communication and computer proficiency required

Responsibilities

• Provide students with basic direction, instruction and assistance in designated areas of instruction
• Administer and correct rests and maintain progress and attendance reports
• Assist in developing community linkages and volunteers for the department
• Ensure accountability is taken each period and report student absences promptly
• Participate in student assessment panels, and perform required documentation and evaluation using CIS and other documentation systems

Education

• Provide students with basic direction, instruction and assistance in designated areas(s) of instruction
• Administer and correct rests and maintain progress and attendance reports.
• Assist in developing community linkages and volunteers for the department.
• Ensure accountability is taken each period and report student absences promptly.
• Participate in student assessment panels, and perform required documentation and evaluation using CIS (Center Information System) and other documentation systems.

Education And Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and substitute teaching certification, as required by the state of employment (or be able to obtain certification within 90 days of hire) or
• One (1) year instructional experience preferred.
• Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communication and computer proficiency also required.
