Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) in Reno, NV is seeking an educator to deliver academic instruction per approved curricula and to provide training and basic guidance to help students reach their academic goals. You will administer and correct tests, maintain progress and attendance reports, and support community linkages and volunteers.

You will participate in student assessment panels and document results using CIS and related systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; teaching eligibility or certification preferred.
• One year teaching experience or state certification required.
• Experience with youth and strong written and verbal communication.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

What you will be doing:

You’ll be responsible for the academic instruction per approved curricula. They will provide training and basic guidance and direction to help students achieve their academic goals.

Essential Functions

• Provide students with basic direction, instruction and assistance in designated areas(s) of instruction
• Administer and correct rests and maintain progress and attendance reports.
• Assist in developing community linkages and volunteers for the department.
• Ensure accountability is taken each period and report student absences promptly.
• Participate in student assessment panels, and perform required documentation and evaluation using CIS (Center Information System) and other documentation systems.

Education And Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• One (1) year teaching experience or certified to teach in state in which center is located.
• Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communication and computer proficiency also required.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
