Job description

Join to apply for the Academic HR Analyst 3 role at UC Davis Health.

Job Summary

This position will be part of the Dean’s Office analyst team but serve as the primary resource and administrator for all academic personnel actions pertaining to members of the Academic Senate or Academic Federation, collective bargaining units, visiting titles, and miscellaneous titles for an assigned group of departments within the School of Medicine. The incumbent will serve as the local AP expert, conducting in-depth research on complex issues and problematic cases, and recommending solutions. They will work collaboratively with faculty and department staff to develop, monitor, and submit complete and timely faculty packets for new academic appointments and faculty advancements, including merits, promotions, appraisals, five-year reviews, and deferrals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • Thorough knowledge of and ability to interpret systemwide, organization, and college policies and procedures governing academic HR.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to analyze complex information.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage large volumes of work and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong decision-making skills with resource utilization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the Academic Personnel Manual, including faculty appointment, merit, appraisal, and promotion processes.
  • Experience with UCD Academic Personnel, preferably within the School of Medicine.
  • Experience training individuals and groups.
  • Experience using MIV (MyInfoVault), UC Path, Aggie Service, and APHID.
  • Working knowledge of UC/UCDH policies regarding Academic Senate, Federation, Unit 18, and bargaining units.

Department Overview

The Office of Academic Personnel in the Schools of Health (SOH) Dean's Office oversees all academic personnel processes in the School of Medicine, which includes 24 departments and 12 research units. The team provides analytical support, training, policy interpretation, and development of policies and procedures for approximately 4,000 academic appointees.

Position Details

  • Salary Range: $75,000 - $135,600
  • Location: Education Building (HSP033)
  • Type: Full-time, Staff: Career, 100% time, Hybrid work (on-site and remote)
  • Union: Non-Represented (PPSM)
