Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston seeks a Gastrointestinal/Hepatic Pathologist to join a busy service within the Digestive Disease Center. The position offers an academic track with opportunities for teaching and research in a renowned program.

Requirements include MD/DO with ABP certification in AP or AP/CP and subspecialty GI pathology training; SC licensure eligibility; Cytology expertise is a plus.

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or equivalent with pathology specialty training and ABP certification in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
• Subspecialty training and/or experience in gastrointestinal pathology.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in South Carolina.
• Additional subspecialty expertise in Cytology desired.

Responsibilities

• Participates in a busy gastrointestinal, hepatic, and pancreatic pathology service at the MUSC Digestive Disease Center.
• Works with biopsy and resection specimens as well as general surgical pathology.
• Covers general frozen section services and shares surgical pathology call.
• Instructs medical students and trains pathology residents and gastroenterology fellows, contributing to the academic mission.
• Time and duties tailored to experience and career goals.
