Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, SC seeks a Gastrointestinal/Hepatic Pathologist to join a busy service within the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. The role includes biopsy, resection, and frozen section work, with teaching of students and residents, and collaboration with clinicians and researchers.

The ideal candidate is academically oriented, board-certified in AP or AP/CP, with subspecialty GI pathology training, and eligible for SC medical

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or equivalent degree with pathology specialty training and certification by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
• Subspecialty training/experience in gastrointestinal pathology.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in South Carolina.

Responsibilities

• Participates in busy GI, hepatic, and pancreatic pathology service at MUSC Digestive Disease Center.
• Works with biopsy and resection specimens and general surgical pathology.
• Covers general frozen section services and shares call.
• Instructs medical students and pathology residents; contributes to academic mission of Hollings Cancer Center.
• Collaborates with clinicians and researchers.
