Job summary

Bluffton University is seeking an Academic Engagement Specialist for Musselman Library to collaborate with faculty and students, delivering instructional programming and resources that support research and information literacy.

You will develop learning resources, provide research assistance, and help plan library programming that strengthens campus engagement and supports teaching and learning.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching, presenting, training, tutoring, or facilitating learning for audiences of high school and older.
• Experience with library research.

Responsibilities

• Design and facilitate instruction that helps students find, evaluate, and use information effectively.
• Partner with faculty to incorporate research skills and emerging technologies into courses.
• Provide research assistance through in-person and virtual consultations and connect users with resources.
• Design learning resources (guides, videos, tutorials) to support information discovery and research.
• Plan and sustain engagement initiatives that strengthen library connections on campus.
• Collaborate with library colleagues to advance events and initiatives aligned with library goals.
• Support library operations as needed and pursue professional development in information literacy and instructional design.
