This position combines clinical and academic responsibilities of a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA). In the clinical role, the CRNA provides anesthetic care for various patients and procedures, working with supervising or medically directing physicians, following hospital policies. Responsibilities include administering anesthesia, monitoring patient responses, and ensuring safety.
In the academic role, the CRNA serves as a Lecturer in WVU School of Nursing’s DNP Nurse Anesthetist Program, collaborating with program leadership, managing graduate courses, instructing students, advising, and mentoring DNP projects.
Includes patient safety, airway management, anesthesia administration, monitoring, documentation, safety checks, communication, emergency response, teaching, and professionalism.
