This position combines clinical and academic responsibilities of a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA). In the clinical role, the CRNA provides anesthetic care for various patients and procedures, working with supervising or medically directing physicians, following hospital policies. Responsibilities include administering anesthesia, monitoring patient responses, and ensuring safety.

In the academic role, the CRNA serves as a Lecturer in WVU School of Nursing’s DNP Nurse Anesthetist Program, collaborating with program leadership, managing graduate courses, instructing students, advising, and mentoring DNP projects.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Unencumbered nursing license or eligibility for licensure as an APRN in West Virginia.
  • Active CRNA certification by NBCRNA.
Experience
  • 3-5 years of clinical practice as a CRNA.
  • Experience in academic education, curriculum development, and instruction preferred.
Core Duties and Responsibilities

Includes patient safety, airway management, anesthesia administration, monitoring, documentation, safety checks, communication, emergency response, teaching, and professionalism.
