Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools in Mirror Lake Elementary is seeking a paraeducator to support students with identified disabilities, working one-on-one or in small groups under the supervision of a certified teacher.

You will perform instructional clerical tasks, coordinate with related staff, and assist with communication with parents. The schedule is 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday, 180 days per year, with pay from $26.90 to $29.64 per hour, DOE.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• AA degree or additional college credits or pass the paraeducator assessment test
• Proficient in spelling, math and grammar

Responsibilities

• Tutor individuals or small groups as directed by the teacher.
• Assist with instructional and behavioral programs when trained.
• Communicate with related resource personnel and parents.
• Supervise students per district policies.
• Plan daily/weekly with teachers and staff serving the same students.
• Assist with record keeping and communications with staff.
