Job summary

DeLaSalle Public Charter High School in Kansas City, Missouri seeks an Academic/Behavior Interventionist to support teachers with instructional and behavioral interventions and to advance Real World Learning programming on and off campus.

You will monitor student progress (grades, attendance, behavior), lead student support meetings, and create targeted strategies to boost achievement and belonging for diverse learners. Direct supervision from the Assistant Principal/Principal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (Master’s degree preferred).
• Missouri Certification in Secondary Administration or eligibility.
• Ability to pass an extensive background check.
• Willingness to comply with ethical and professional standards established by the State Board of Education and DLS HS.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong PC skills.
• Organized, self-starter who can adapt to support the best interest of the student.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding students.

Responsibilities

• Works on the Kairos and Instructional Teams.
• Kairos: responds to walkie calls and participates in team activities.
• Instructional: supports instruction and participates in grade-level meetings.
• Supports teachers with instructional and behavioral support in classrooms.
• Supports Real World Learning programming on and off campus.
• Facilitates literacy intervention block and small group pull-out sessions.
• Monitors data points (grades, attendance, behavior) to keep students on track.
• Communicates progress with students and families regularly.
• Facilitates student support meetings.
• Creates and implements targeted interventions to promote achievement and belonging.

Job Title: Academic/Behavior Interventionist

Contract Days: 11 Months

Position Responsibilities:

• Works on the Kairos and Instructional Teams
• Kairos: is a part of the Response Team (responds to walkie calls, facilitates Working Lunch etc.), participates in Kairos team meetings
• Instructional: supports instruction, participates in grade level meetings etc.
• Supports all teachers in their classrooms w/ instructional and behavioral support
• Supports Real World Learning programming on DLS campus/off DLS campus
• Facilitates literacy intervention block and small group pull out sessions using a specific curriculum
• Monitors various data points (Academics: grades/credits, Attendance, Behavior) to ensure students complete their year “On Track” to graduate
• Communicates students’ progress with students and families regularly
• Facilitates student support meetings
• Creates and implements strategic interventions to promote student achievement, foster a sense of belonging and connection etc.

Position Qualifications:

• 1) A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (Master’s Degree Preferred)
• 2) Hold or be eligible for Missouri Certification in Secondary Administration
• 3) Ability to pass an extensive background check
• 4) Evidence of the willingness and the ability to comply with the standards for ethical and professional performance established by the State Board of Education and DLS HS
