DeLaSalle High School in Kansas City, MO is seeking an Academic/Behavior Interventionist to support students with high needs. You will work on Kairos and Instructional Teams, provide literacy intervention, monitor attendance and behavior, and help students stay On Track to graduate.

Responsibilities

  • Works on the Kairos and Instructional Teams.
  • Kairos: responds to walkie calls, participates in Kairos meetings.
  • Instructional: supports instruction and attends grade-level meetings.
  • Supports teachers with instructional and behavioral support.
  • Supports Real World Learning programming on and off campus.
  • Facilitates literacy intervention blocks and small group pull-out sessions.
  • Monitors data points (grades, attendance, behavior) to keep students On Track.
  • Communicates progress with students and families regularly.
  • Facilitates student support meetings.
  • Creates and implements strategic interventions to promote achievement and belonging.

Job Title: Academic/Behavior Interventionist
Direct Supervisor: Assistant Principal/Principal
Contract Days: 11 Months

Position Responsibilities:
  • Works on the Kairos and Instructional Teams
  • Kairos: is a part of the Response Team (responds to walkie calls, facilitates Working Lunch etc.), participates in Kairos team meetings
  • Instructional: supports instruction, participates in grade level meetings etc.
  • Supports all teachers in their classrooms w/ instructional and behavioral support
  • Supports Real World Learning programming on DLS campus/off DLS campus
  • Facilitates literacy intervention block and small group pull out sessions using a specific curriculum
  • Monitors various data points (Academics: grades/credits, Attendance, Behavior) to ensure students complete their year “On Track” to graduate
  • Communicates students’ progress with students and families regularly
  • Facilitates student support meetings
  • Creates and implements strategic interventions to promote student achievement, foster a sense of belonging and connection etc.
Position Qualifications:
  • 1) A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (Master’s Degree Preferred)
  • 2) Hold or be eligible for Missouri Certification in Secondary Administration
  • 3) Ability to pass an extensive background check
  • 4) Evidence of the willingness and the ability to comply with the standards for ethical and professional performance established by the State Board of Education and DLS HS
  • 5) Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 6) Strong PC skills
  • 7) Organized, self-starter with the ability to adapt to support the best interest of the student
  • 8) Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding students
