Job summary

Boston Public Schools is seeking a One-to-One Paraprofessional to provide direct support to an individual student under supervision of the teacher. Duties include assisting with instruction, personal care, literacy and communication supports, and collaboration with families.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 48 college credits or an Associate's Degree or a qualifying assessment, and ABA training.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least 48 college credits or an Associate's Degree or a qualifying standardized assessment (ParaPro or WorkKeys).
  • Experience with students with mild to moderate disabilities.
  • Experience collaborating with parents, administrators, teachers, and students.
  • ABA training and US work authorization by first day.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with small-group instruction, toileting, transfers, personal hygiene, and support the school nurse with tube feedings.
  • May require gender-specific assignment due to intimate care needs.
  • Assist students who may be assigned to various schools within the district, including advanced coursework support.
  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher to implement daily lesson plans and activities.
  • Foster open communication with parents and staff.
  • Perform other duties as requested by school leadership.
