Job summary

Holyoke Public Schools is seeking a paraprofessional for the ABL Program to support students with autism in a substantially separate classroom that uses ABA with a high staff-to-student ratio.

You will reinforce learning, assist with mobility and daily routines, and help implement behavioral plans while collecting data and collaborating with teachers and therapists to foster independence and social-emotional growth.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Excellent teamwork abilities and collaboration with staff.
• Bilingual applicants (Spanish) encouraged to apply.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply student performance data.

Responsibilities

• Implements ABA strategies and collects daily data.
• Supports an individual student with materials or skills introduced by teachers/therapists.
• Operates and maintains classroom equipment used for instruction.
• Assists with behavioral modification programs and logs data daily/weekly.
• Supervises students during drills, assemblies, play, and field trips.
• Assists students with mobility and personal care.
• Aids with lunch, snack, and cleanup routines.
• Greet buses and assist with breakfast and lunch routines.
• Assists with wash-ups, toileting, diapering, and tooth brushing.
• Collaborates to ensure classroom support.
• Other duties as assigned by Superintendent/Principal
