Job summary

Barnstable Public Schools’ Barnstable High School in Barnstable, MA is seeking an instructional assistant to support an intensive ABA-based educational program for case students. Under the Partner Classroom Teacher, you will provide direct services (about 30 hours weekly), help implement IEP goals, collect data, communicate with families, and maintain organized student materials and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in special education preferred.
• Ability to manage behaviorally/physically challenging students.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the safety of all students.
• Provides 30 hours of direct educational services.
• Incorporates educational objectives into ongoing activities.
• Facilitates generalization and maintenance of skills.
• Collects data on targeted skills.
• Communicates with parents via the communication log when directed.
• Maintains student notebooks and materials.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Partner Classroom Teacher or Supervisor.
• Maintains confidentiality and ethical behavior.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Experience in special education preferred

Physical condition capable of managing behaviorally/physically challenging students
