Qualifications

• Minimum of 48 college credits; or Passed the Para Pro test.
• Experience working with children; in an educational setting preferred.
• Experience with and/or the ability to become CPI trained if necessary.
• Experience working with children with Special Education services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction and guidance of the special education/general education teacher and school personnel to support student growth and achievement.
• Assist students in learning across content areas in various group settings.
• Help manage emotions and behavior to maximize learning per behavior plans and classroom management programs.
• Provide sensory support and use sensory plans/equipment as needed.
• Assist in communication between students and staff, including assistive technology.
• Support student transitions during arrival, dismissal, and class changes.
• Review IEPs as needed to ensure student needs are met.
• Provide personal care assistance as required; teach daily living skills where applicable.
• Maintain safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
• Collaborate with ABA Technicians, other specialists, and teachers.
