Job summary

Herzing University is seeking a Curriculum Development SME for the Master of Applied Behavior Analysis. This remote, part-time contract role supports designing an ABA program aligned with ABAI standards and BACB requirements.

The SME will guide accreditation timelines, map standards to courses, ensure licensure alignment, and craft internal/external communications. Meetings with the AVP and Department Chair will be required.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in behavior analysis or ABA required.
• Current BCBA certification with BCBA-D designation in good standing.
• Experience teaching, designing, and launching an accredited online ABA program.
• Experience with ABAI accreditation process as program director, faculty member, or reviewer.

Responsibilities

• Propose an accreditation timeline with milestones, dependencies, and required hiring needs (including program director and faculty qualifications). The timeline addresses ABAI eligibility and application requirements.
• Review the proposed curriculum and map it to ABAI Accreditation Board standards. Deliver a crosswalk linking standards to courses and learning outcomes, with a written gap analysis and recommended revisions.
• Document how the curriculum, supervised fieldwork plan, and program outcomes align to BACB requirements and to licensure requirements in the applicable states.
• Draft internal program communication materials and provide subject matter review of external materials.
• Attend scheduled project meetings with the AVP of Curriculum and Assessment and the Department Chair-Behavioral Health.
• Submit deliverables on the schedule set in the SME contract and in accordance with program structure requirements.
• Protect confidential University information. Use generative AI tools with University materials only as permitted by Herzing’s AI Governance Policy.
• Adhere to the SME contract prepared by the AVP of Curriculum and Assessment and signed by the SME and Department Chair-Behavioral Health. Additional duties may be assigned per the SME contract.
