Job summary

May Institute is seeking a Classroom Counselor for our Wilmington, MA school. You will work in classroom settings with students ages 5-21 who have Autism and developmental and cognitive disabilities, applying ABA methods, providing compassionate care, and supporting life and academic skill-building.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; strongly preferred if in Psychology, Behavior Analysis, or a related field.
• Valid and current U.S. driver’s license with at least 1 year of licensed driving experience.
• Ability to work primarily in a classroom/school setting.
• Empathy, patience, compassion, and the ability to support children with diverse communication and behavioral needs.
• Experience with children or individuals with special needs and developmental disabilities required.

As a Classroom Counselor at our May Institute School in Wilmington, MA, you'll be an essential part of our mission to support students ages 5-21 with Autism and Developmental and Cognitive Disabilities in achieving their goals and aspirations. You’ll work directly in the classroom settings using the proven methods of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA). You’ll be providing compassionate care, facilitating personalized instruction and assistance, and engaging in life and academic skill-building activities.

What You’ll Do

• Implement daily classroom schedules and individualized programs under supervision.
