AAA Mountain West Group in Reno, NV is hiring tow operators. Start times range from 8am to 3pm; 8-hour shifts, weekends included. Responsibilities

• Operate tow trucks safely and efficiently.
• Perform basic vehicle diagnostics to identify issues.
• Provide roadside assistance such as tire changes, fuel delivery, and lock-outs.
• Build trust and stay calm for customers on scene.
• Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing under pressure.
• Assess safety issues and respond appropriately.
• Drive a manual or automatic vehicle as needed.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)

• Operating tow trucks safely and efficiently.
• Performing simple vehicle diagnostics to figure out the issue.
• Providing essential roadside assistance, including tire changes, fuel delivery, and vehicle lock-outs.
• Building trust, problem-solving, and being a calming presence for our members on the scene.
• Clear and proficient verbal and written communication even under pressure.
• Common knowledge of vehicle components and the common reasons for vehicle failure.
• Demonstrates problem solving and listening skills to evaluate member safety as well as the ability to discern safety issues and respond appropriately.
• Ability to drive a manual/automatic shift vehicle.

Education & Experience/Licenses & Certification/ Requirements

• Must possess a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements

• Works outdoors at vehicle sites when servicing vehicles. Lifting and carrying tires and parts, weighing up to 50 pounds, several times a day; bending, kneeling and stooping as required for service calls. Works in all weather and all traffic conditions. Vehicle recovery sites may be wet, messy and hazardous. Service Providers are required to provide a photograph for identification purposes.
