Job summary

Sweet Briar College is seeking a Media Services and A/V Specialist/LMS Support Technician to support campus classrooms, events, and evolving A/V needs. The role focuses on managing video conferencing, projectors, displays, PAs, and LMS support for faculty and students.

The ideal candidate will bring basic LMS knowledge, strong A/V skills, and a customer-service orientation. Some evenings and weekends may be required to support events and productions.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of common A/V systems (projectors, displays, mics, PA)
• Experience with Zoom/Skype/Google Hangouts for rooms
• Basic knowledge of Canvas or another LMS
• Good problem solving for device compatibility in A/V environments
• Strong research mindset on industry trends and upgrades
• Customer service attitude and teamwork

Responsibilities

• Help faculty/staff/students with LMS issues and requests
• Train faculty in Canvas LMS usage
• Design and maintain campus digital A/V infrastructure
• Monitor A/V resources to minimize downtime
• Support end users and improve their proficiency with key systems
• Create end-user guides and offer training sessions
• Determine A/V needs for events and handle setup/teardown
• Keep software/firmware up to date on relevant systems
• Manage inventory of A/V devices available for checkout
• Track innovations in classroom tech for future planning
• Supervise student assistants in supporting infrastructure
• Advise on instructional technology use to enhance teaching and learning
• Collaborate with Help Desk to maintain campus labs and classrooms
