Job summary

NorthPoint Search Group represents an established construction company hiring a hands-on Staff Accountant focused on Accounts Payable. You will own the full AP cycle, manage vendor documentation, apply job-cost coding, and support timely payments in a fast-paced environment.

This long-term on-site opportunity offers room to grow into a broader staff accounting role, with direct reporting to the Controller and collaboration across the finance team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of construction accounting experience, with 2+ years preferred.
• Hands-on, full-cycle Accounts Payable experience with real volume.
• Experience with job cost coding in a construction environment.
• Strong Excel skills and solid accounting judgment.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Polished, professional communication and self-starter mindset.
• Interest in a long-term role with room to grow.

Responsibilities

• Own the full-cycle AP process from invoice receipt through payment, not just data entry.
• Manage vendor and subcontractor documentation, including W-9s and lien waivers.
• Apply accurate job-cost coding to invoices and payables.
• Handle invoice follow-up, discrepancy research, and issue resolution.
• Perform reconciliations related to AP and vendor accounts.
• Communicate professionally with vendors, subcontractors, project managers, and staff.
• Support subcontractor compliance tracking and high-volume invoice processing.
• Grow into a trusted right-hand role within the accounting team.
