Consumers Energy in Saginaw, MI is seeking an Automotive & Equipment (A/E) Mechanic for a 2nd shift union position, with a 40-hour minimum in a 24/7 operation.
Under directive supervision you will diagnose, adjust and repair hydraulic, brake, transmission, electrical and emission systems on vehicles and equipment, and tune engines with analyzers.
This role requires safety compliance, ability to move around the plant, and potential overtime, nights, weekends and holidays during storms.

This position is onsite at the Saginaw Service Center located in Saginaw, MI.
This is a second (2nd) shift union position with the requirement to work a minimum of 40 hours per week in a 24/7 operation.
The Automotive & Equipment (A/E) Mechanic assists Master Automotive & Equipment Mechanic and, under directive supervision, performs mechanical work on vehicles and equipment at the grade indicated by such duties as:
The individual shall exemplify safe work practices and comply with all of the company’s safety standards and procedures
He/she must utilize effective oral and written communication skills to effectively log plant status and interact with coworkers
Temperature conditions within the plant can fluctuate and can reach above 100 degrees; in addition, should they need to evaluate outdoor equipment, the individual will be exposed to outdoor temperatures that fluctuate with weather conditions
