Job summary

DMC Recruitment seeks an Architectural Sales Representative for a building materials company in Fresno and the Central Valley. You will develop relationships with architects, interior designers, dealers, and contractors, guiding them from early design through to project completion and specifying surface products.

Architectural Sales Representative | A&D Specifications

Fresno, CA | Central Valley Territory

Salary + Car Allowance + Benefits + 3 Weeks’ Vacation

DMC Recruitment has been retained to find an Architectural Sales Representative for a building materials company growing its presence in the Fresno and Central Valley market.

This role is for someone who likes getting in front of architects and designers, learning what they’re working on and helping them choose the right products. You’ll build relationships with the A&D community, drive specifications for surface products and follow opportunities from early design through to completed projects.

The territory includes commercial and residential work, with applications in kitchen, bath and other designed spaces. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your market, build a strong project pipeline and see the results of the relationships you create.

What You’ll Do

• Develop relationships with architects, interior designers, dealers, contractors and fabricators across Fresno and the surrounding market
• Get involved early in projects to present products and influence specifications
• Lead CEU presentations, lunch-and-learns and product demonstrations
• Stay connected to projects as they move through design, bidding and completion
• Work with sales and distribution partners to turn specifications into sales
• Build a territory plan and keep project activity organized in Salesforce
• Represent the company at relevant design and industry events

What You Bring

• Experience in A&D sales, architectural specifications, building materials sales or a related role
• The confidence to walk into a design firm, build a relationship and deliver a strong presentation
• An understanding of how products move from specification to purchase
• The ability to manage your own territory and stay on top of multiple projects
• Knowledge of the Fresno or Central Valley market, or relationships you can build on in the region

Experience with surface materials, kitchen and bath products, or groups such as AIA, IIDA, ASID or NKBA is welcome, but isn’t required. We’re interested in people who know how to develop relationships and create opportunities in the design and construction community.
